Shailene Woodley is an American actress and activist. As a character in The Descendants, she played Alexandra King who is an addiction-prone teenager. Her praiseworthy performance as the character Alexandra "Alex" King in The Descendants led to her taking on other characters easily. Shailene was able to get her name in the Hollywood world early on throughout her career. This by itself is an impressive feat. Her career began with TV and commercials, but she soon moved into Hollywood film roles. Because of her acting abilities she's been awarded numerous accolades, such as MTV Movie Awards, People's Choice Awards as well as Teen Choice Awards.
