An ex-fashion model of the top class who was 5'10'' in height, Carey was an a fan favorite of the top American fashion designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father is an accomplished scientist who was named Scientist of the Year back in 1979 at the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was educated throughout the world because of her father's work. As she was attending the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. The Ford Model Agency in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. She moved to France in 1980. She stayed for a short time in Paris as well as Bordeaux before deciding to return home to New York to continue with her education at college and build a modeling career and was soon being featured on the cover of Vogue, Glamour, etc. Between her modelling assignments, she studied literature full time at New York University. In time, she began to become interested in acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her debut as an actor was an appearance with Robin Williams in the 1986 film 'Club Paradise. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing or windsurfing. She also enjoys climbing mountains and whitewater kayaking.
