
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. There, she made her debut in professional football and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and was the youngest player in the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She was able to finish 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists during the same calendar year . making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
